Patagonia River Guides has a great deal to offer in addition to world-class fly fishing. Non-fishing guests or those who simply want to take a day off from fishing, can enjoy relaxing around the lodge or choose from a variety of guided activities within our ecotourism program including: walking, hiking or biking in or around our national parks; horseback riding on one of the area estancias; bird watching with an ornithologist; massage and holistic healing activities with our professional therapist; whitewater rafting or scenic float trips; area cultural tours; shopping for local arts, crafts and gifts; visits across the border to Chile; and on-site cooking classes. Non-fishers are just as important as the fishermen and a complete itinerary will be prepared with as few or as many activities as the non-fisher would like. Please contact us for a complete schedule and options for non-fishing programs.

ECO Program FAQ’s

Yes. Non-fishing guests will enjoy the same level of
service and guides as anglers with transportation, activities, access, and a delicious
picnic lunch provided daily
The price is the same as our
fishing programs as we provide the same service along with transportation, guides, and activities. If guests just want to stay at the lodge without activities, we can
arrange a special rate for “relaxing”.
Without a doubt! Because the area surrounding our lodges is so diverse, there is a lot to explore. It is our desire to provide a program with lots of variety and to introduce those that don’t want to partake in angling activities all there it to enjoy in and around the Andes Mountains.
We don’t recommend Rio Pico
for ECO programs because the area has limited non-fishing activities and infrastructure set up for those programs. Trevelin and PRG North are both ideal but distinct for those that don’t necessarily want to fish.
Each guest should pack comfortable footwear for the
activities they might enjoy, a layering system with a breathable rain jacket, adventure clothing that dries quickly and breathes for warm and cool climates, sunglasses, binoculars, bird book, backpack, sunscreen, etc. Guests should be prepared for all types of weather and terrain because our area of Patagonia offers climates from temperate rainforest to desert and each day brings a different activity
and ecosystem.
