Beautiful Fly Fishing Lodge, Multiple Rivers, and Legendary Trout Fishing Our fly fishing lodge is located near the town of Esquel and on the border of Los Alerces National Park. Our central location allows us to fish such legendary waters as: Rio Rivadavia, Rio Grande, Rio Corcovado, Rio Frey, Rio Percey, Rio Corintos, Nant Y Fall, Rio Chubut, Rio Tecka and the Arroyo Pescado spring creek on any given day. In addition to our main lodge, we also host our guests at a beautiful lodge in the remote region of Rio Pico giving us access to other rivers such as Rio Pico, Rio Nielson, Rio Las Pampas and a dozen lakes holding some of the largest trout in Patagonia. Trout fishing in our area of Patagonia Argentina is like that of Montana fifty years ago where area waters receive little pressure and trout readily eat dry flies. Beginners and experts alike will enjoy our waters and the trout fishing we have to offer. The average Patagonia trout is somewhere between sixteen and eighteen-inches and they are plentiful. Fish over twenty-inches are common and fish up to thirty inches can be and are caught by lucky anglers. Rivers in our area of Patagonia flow clean nearly all year, and it is very uncommon for the rivers to be “out”. Most streams are gin clear allowing our guests to enjoy sight fishing as well as prospecting from a boat or on foot. There are many beautiful places to see and many beautiful rivers to fish in Patagonia, and we think that spending the entire time on one or two rivers doesn’t allow enough variety in fishing or diversity in scenery or culture. One of the things that makes Patagonia River Guides unique is our ability to fish a different river daily while utilizing both public and private access. Contrary to popular belief, there is no private water--the water in Patagonia belongs to everyone and most rivers can be both floated and waded. Strategic access points are the key and we have a lot of them due to relationships made with area estancias over the years. |
