2023 Program Information & Availability

As the season changes, it’s time to start thinking about your fall and winter plans. There has never been a better time to travel to Argentina. The pandemic is over, travel is back to normal and there are no travel restrictions of any kind to travel to and fish with PRG. The Andes are full of snow and the 2023 season promises to be one of the best ever with great water levels and big fish.

NEW for 2023!! PRG is now managing both the lodge and fishing program at Tres Valles Lodge in RIo Pico. As part of the management process, we are upgrading lodge amenities, service, food and beverage programs, and most importantly, expanding private water options. Guests will immediately see the difference and enjoy an upgrade at one of the top lodges in all of Argentina.

Estancia Tres Valles is one of the most beautiful in Argentina, centrally located in the heart of the wild and scenic Rio Pico Valley. The lodge is set on a hillside overlooking Lago Vilches and with a full spread of the Andes Mountains. Guests enjoy incredible views from every window, including the bathrooms! Dozens of small spring creek and intimate river fishing options are located within the estancia and estancias bordering Tres Valles. Sportic hatches, including a wide array of terrestrials, keep the fish looking up and exciting sight fishing is the norm. Fish are plentiful in the region for anglers of any ability, and large fish over 20-inches, sit in nearly every pool.

This is the wade fisherman’s dream destination but also a place for everyone with river floats on the Rio Pico to combine with wade fishing. The area also has more than a dozen lakes and lagunas within an hour of the estancia. All of them are unique and wildly different. Prominent lakes like, Lakes 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, produce hefty browns and rainbows. Guests of Tres Valles have the opportunity to fish lakes for full or half days, splitting the lake fishing with a spring creek or river. Trophy browns, rainbows and brookies can be targeted and dry flies are oftentimes the best way to catch the biggest fish.

The variety of fishing program will impress even the most well-traveled. The area is wild and scenic and not much has changed since we first explored and started outfitting Rio Pico twenty years ago. Gauchos still roam the range tending to their sheep and cattle and rarely is a tourist or another angler sighted. RIo Pico is pure Patagonia just two and a half hours south of The Lodge at Trevelin and the Esquel Airport, and a million miles, it seems, from the modern world.
