With all the worries about travel to and from San Martin de los Andes’ Chapelco Airport and also with the questions surrounding the Bariloche Airport, PRG is happy to announce to our guests that we have access to a Cessna 402 for the season. The plane will be stationed at Chapelco and will make getting to and from the area easier than ever. Guests can now fly to and from Neuquen, Bariloche, or even Esquel Airports. This plane will give guests options we have never had. The plane has room for 6 anglers with normal luggage and 5 with excessive baggage. If you are planning on fishing with PRG North in the beautiful and productive Northern Patagonia Region this year, please contact Alex Knüll ([email protected]) to check possibilities for getting to and from the area. We are working with other area outfitters to use the plane in round trip fights so that guests don’t have to pay the “dead end”. Regardless, the price is affordable and there are several advantages. Guests can avoid the 6-hour+ transfer from Esquel to San Martin and fish 1/2 or more of the arrival day! Guests can also choose to fly into and out of Neuquen, which has several daily flights to get them back to Buenos Aires in time to catch their international connection. Instead of a 4-hour ride to Neuquen airport, guests will arrive in as little as 1-hour, allowing for a few last casts or a few extra hours of rest and relaxation at the lodge before departure.
